Slovenia is a country of dramatic contrasts, where the peaks of the Julian Alps meet deep forests, turquoise rivers, quiet alpine lakes and rolling green hills. Scattered across the countryside, small churches perched on hilltops add another distinctive element to the landscape.
This gallery brings together photographs from places including Triglav National Park, Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj and the Soča Valley, as well as the quieter rural landscapes beyond the mountains. I am drawn to the changing atmosphere of these places — from mist drifting through forests and valleys to soft evening light falling across hills, lakes and distant peaks.
The combination of mountains, forests, water and traditional architecture creates scenes that feel both distinctly Slovenian and wonderfully timeless.
