The Jizera Mountains (Jizerské hory) are one of my favorite places for landscape and woodland photography in the Czech Republic. Located in northern Bohemia near the Polish border, this beautiful mountain region is characterized by deep forested valleys, mountain streams, granite boulders and atmospheric beech forests.
I am especially drawn to the steep northern slopes of the Jizera Mountains, where numerous small brooks flow through the valleys and dense forests cover the surrounding landscape. The tall beech trees create beautiful natural patterns and layers, while scattered granite rocks add structure and a sense of scale to the compositions.
